President's Message

Welcome back......St Joan of Arc Youth Council is proud to announce a new board for the 2008/2009 season. Please join me in welcoming Margaret Fabrizi as our new secretary and Diva Puerta as our new boys’ athletic director. We are honored to have such talented and dedicated volunteers as part of our CYO team. Returning members are John Fitzgerald (Fitzie) Vice President and our indispensible treasurer Donna Mulvany without whose constant expertise and guidance we would not run so smoothly.

Thank you so much to outgoing members Kathy Farren and Jim Walsh. Their countless years of dedication, coaching and time along with their commitment to St Joan of Arc will always be remembered fondly by many generations of St Joan of Arc children. Don't worry Kathy will still be involved with coaching!!!!

          We are looking forward to a great season this year. We have many exciting events to look forward to. Firstly, it gives me great pleasure to announce the installation of a new gym floor in the Msgr Boylan Auditorium. As many of you know the old gym floor has held many events and exciting games over the past 40 years. But now we welcome the much needed improvement and look forward to using it to its fullest potential. None of this would have been possible without the very generous donation by the Krupa Family. The children of SJA Youth Council thank you from the bottom of their hearts. We have even more great news!!!!!!!  A new kitchen has been installed in the Msgr Boylan Auditorium. As you know this was badly needed and we cant wait for basketball season to start so we can break it in.

            What a great year ahead! Registrations for all activities have been overwhelming. We will be offering basketball, track and field, art, chess, softball, baseball, soccer intramural and Putting on the Kids (drama and singing). We are excited about the prospect of a new activity, SJA Youth Council kids’ social night. Children grades 6th thru 9th can register to join the social. We will meet one night a week and the children can enjoy music, games and other social activities in a safe, supervised environment. We feel this is a much needed and welcomed addition to our program.

 It’s time for our hugely successful production of Putting on the Kids 2. The show dates are Fri Oct 17th 8pm, Sat Oct 18th 4pm, and Sun Oct 19th at 2pm. Our annual Halloween party will be on Sat Oct 25th and our Christmas party will be Dec 13th. More information on when tickets will be sold to follow.
